The following pictures were taken in the studio where we trained to be a director, a camera man, and a TV presenter. It was one of the best things we did at college.

At YASA:
Training at YASA was one of the best activities I’ve done throughout my three years at the Lebanese University. My friend Rana and I were together, helping in writing and editing news. We even participated in the writing and editing of a book that was published by YASA. I was given the opportunity to interview one of the volunteers at YASA, Elie Kallas, who had suffered a tragic accident at the age of 17. The interview was published in Nashrat Al YASA in Nahar el Shabab.

To Me...

Journalism is a message. It’s not a major one aims to specialize in… earn money through or make a living of. Journalism is much more than that! It’s a way of living one adopts in order to deliver the perfect picture of what’s happening in the world.
I didn’t see it that way at first. When I first graduated from school and had to choose a major in university, journalism was a second option. Although I took one step into the first option, I eventually noticed that journalism was the only way to fulfill my ambitions. It involves a personal message, freedom of speech, a humane message, fame… In other words, it’s a different life. As a career, it could quite tiring, but it sure is worth it!
“A news sense is really a sense of what is important, what is vital, what has color and life – what people are interested in. That’s journalism.” Warren Buffett
